Jackie was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, who dedicated her life to Christ and worked in the church, wearing many hats. She has left a void and some big shoes to fill.
Jackie was a teacher in the Omaha Public Schools for 33 years, before she decided to retire. After retirement, she decided to go back and work part-time as the "Parent Liaison", at Hale Middle School. She also worked at Mandela Elementary School, as the "Volunteer Coordinator, until her unexpected passing.
Our sister was passionate about education and dedicated her life to uplifting young people in various stages of their educational journey. Jackie's expertise in education was a gift that we valued in our church. We depended on her, and she always delivered.
We miss Jackie and could not have thought of a better way to honor her memory, than by establishing a scholarship in her name. She shared her wisdom, knowledge, and love with so many, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
Our first $1,000.00 scholarship was awarded February 11, 2018, at the annual Concerned and Caring Educator's (CACE) Scholarship banquet dinner.
